2010 a New Year and New Resolutions

Cliche yes, but a New Year and I have new resolutions...how realistic is it that I'm going to follow through with them? I hope very realistic, but time will tell.

1. hahah Lose Weight, ALL the weight that I put on in 2009...which was a lot (thanks to my medications). Okay well it may not all be due to my medication, my love of food may have something to do with it. But I'm going to try to lose it. Oh' good bye you sexy bag of chips and you delicious brownies.

2. I am going to be blogging A LOT more. (hopefully) <--just being honest. Ideally I would like to blog everything I shoot, but for me it's not going to happen. But I am going to try and post a lot more. Here's a pretty picture to please those pretty eye of yours ;)

I am the worst blogger, honestly. I will be the first to admit, it's not my strongest element. I've always been like that, ladies...remember when you were younger and you kept journals? Yeah I am the girl that has/had giant gaps in her journal. I'm talking years people, I kept starting and stopping. I even did it when I was in the navy while on deployment, I have gaps of time where I just didn't write. So lets just say that I'm glad to be posting. Update: Still busy, busier then ever, tons of wedding, tons of editing, album, emails. Here is a photo of one of the weddings I need to blog and will be soon. Seriously, not kidding this time. I'm going to start blogging on a more constant basis. I'm sorry internet. I'm sorry.

Yes, it has happened...I've turned 25 and for the first time I felt it, but I soon got over it.

My day turned out to be better then I thought...Chad took me to Princeton (I adore Princeton) for Lunch @ Witherspoon and my favorite pastry shop, Little Chef Pastry Shop, then a frap a walk and back home for some taco's and UPS. haha.

Ofcourse our Snow Boarding Gear came in, although I'm just not ready yet to let go of summer. But I'll take it!

The best husband ever (in my eyes)...This is his "Baby...seriously, put down the camera at the restaurant" face. hahahah

When Heather contacting me to shoot baby Nicholas I was so excited. Heather is a local young business woman who is one of the owners of SALON PURE in Princeton. So if you ladies or gentleman need some pampering, please go check out Pure! They do a lot of bridals also...do you hear that ladies? Keep that in mind ;)
Back to Nicholas, he was 5 weeks at the shoot and just the cutest little thing. I'm terrible when it comes to guessing the age of babies, I'm usually off by months. But now I am gradually getting better. Nicholas was wide awake and alert when I first got there, showing me the power of his lungs! I can't believe such powerful lungs on such tiny little people ;) But he was a charming little guy, with charming parents! Take a look for yourself:

June 24th is near and dear to my heart, it's my most favorite day of the year. It mine and Chad's Wedding Anniversary! So this past Weds we celebrated our 4th Anniversary. Dressed in what we got married in, yes you heard me right...hahah...we went out to a Beautiful dinner at the Porterhouse and had a nice tasty 38oz. Kobe Steak for 2. Chad is a steak guy, more then anyone I know, so it was fitting. And boy o' boy was it delicious. We enjoy going out to dinner and having a wonderful meal and this dinner was just so special. I loved sitting across from the man I love, wearing what I said I do in and chit chatting, laughing and reminiscing.

If you want to laugh... on the left is a picture of Chad and I on the day we got married<3 and on right is a picture of us on Wednesday ;) It makes me smile and he makes me smile.

Chad, Thank you for loving me the way you do. Here is to 4 years and a lifetime of more to come...I love you more then anything. You are my heart and soul and I am a better person because of you. I will always be right beside you, holding your hand, loving you with all my heart.
Also I can't wait until you grow your hair back!

Like I posted in their sneak peak, It was a very foggy day. It was actually supposed to thunderstorm out and to our luck the rain held off and the fog stayed, it was perfect. So I've been completely and totally occupied with getting ready for this weekends wedding festivities, I'm a little overly ecstatic about this one, maybe because one of my Best Friends is getting married and I'm the Matron of Honor along with Aimee the Maid of Honor! I can not wait for Saturday! I can't believe tomorrow is the rehearsal dinner, it's here. O boy. It seems like the past 10 years has flown by way to fast.
I can't wait to post some pictures of the whole process leading up to this day, like when we went for Danielle's first fitting, picking out veils, trying out the bustle or testing the photo booth. But I can't spoil any surprises of what anything looks like. It's been so much fun being a bridesmaid, I don't want it to be over. It's going to be so weird to actually be a part of the wedding instead of taking all the pictures. Lets see how long I can keep the camera out of my hand Saturday...I say 5 min. I'm not really sure how I'm gonna feel being on the other side of the camera, I'm better behind the camera instead of in front of it.

Happy Birthday to the most wonderful, loving, goofy, hilarious, southern husband a girl could have! I love you Mr. Chad Hopkins.
We went to Boston, with my brother and 7 friends for the weekend, explored went to a concert, our favorite: Dave Matthews Band at FENWAY Stadium, ate at the oldest Tavern in America (the Bell-in-Hand) and had "Chowda" it was an amazing weekend.

Chad has a bald head right now because he is currently in the Police Academy. Chad did not bring his baseball cap even though it was sunny, I don't know-I think he thinks he is immune to the sun even though he gets red every time, although only for a day. Needless to say, we had to find a hat...This is what he came up with ;) He makes me Laugh<3

Sunday the Hubs and I hopped on the Train up to NYC for an Engagement shoot with Danielle and Aden. They are pretty much the coolest, no really, seriously. It wasn't like it was a session, it was more like hanging with a couple friends and snapping photos. We had so much fun shooting them and hanging with them. I can't wait to post more of there awesome session.

My Grandfathers are Veterans, My Uncle and Aunt our Veterans, I'm a Veteran, My Husband is a Veteran, His Father is a Veteran, His Grandfather is a Veteran, His Uncle a Veteran. To all of them...Thank You. I'm a huge supporter of the military and always will be. I love my Armed Forces and my Country. Please remember all past and present Veterans, please remember those who gave all. They protect, protected and have served this beautiful country and we should all be grateful.
I took my grandmother to the Veterans Cemetery this morning to visit my grandfathers grave. It is surreal to see all of the flags that the local boy scouts put on each grave, it was breathtaking. It was moving, tearful...so many who gave.

I had an engagement session this past Saturday with Stephanie and Freddy down the shore! I love the shore and me and the husband stayed until Sunday to Celebrate our friends, combined bachelor/bachelorette party (they're getting married in 3 weeks)! Needless to say we had a blast. O Atlantic City, Thank you for the awesome places to shoot, eat and the memories made.
By the way it was extremely foggy(as you can see from the photo) and I loved every minute of it, I just wanted to keep shooting in the fog. Can't wait to post there E-Session!

Yesterday was my baby brothers birthday...the big 6. It was absolutely gorgeous out, we went up to my Dad's to celebrate and we grilled out, my dad got a new grill so he was the grill master and mmm mmm was it delicious.

59 years ago, my mothers father and my mothers mother said I do. Today, May 6th, 2009 would have been my grandparents 59th Anniversary. Sadly my grandfather past away a few years back, but my grandmother still loves him with all over her heart and soul. So today we celebrate 59 years of love. The importance of a photograph...this is my grandmothers only remaining photo from her wedding day. She cherishes it, as do I.

It was chilly and damp, but once I got to the board walk and smelled the salt in the air, saw the sand and waves, a warmth fell over me of memories. How much I love the ocean, the shore and the sand between my toes!

I had a blast shooting, learned a lot, met cool people. Atlantic City never disappoints me.

April Showers...

So the Bridal Shower wasn't in April but it was 3 days ago and today is April 1rst (April Fool's Day).
This past Sunday I and 4 other girls we're able to pull off an awesome surprise Bridal Shower @ Carlucci's Restaurant in Yardley, Pa. The Order of the Bridesmaids, Me, Aimee, Robyn, Katy and Kate put a lot of hard work and thought into Danielle's Wine themed shower. It was all well worth it for one of my favorite people! It was also fun planning and sneaking around with the girls. I had the honor of trying to get her to the restaurant...to let you know I am the WORST liar ever. Really. My friends know this, therefore everyone was on there toes about my being able to pull it off and well.....I DID! Wooo whoo. She had no idea and was completely surprised.
Here are some of the Shower details:

If you thinking cute and wondering what some of the stuff is...The ice cubes in the buckets do have roses frozen in them! They are fake roses but they turned out beautiful. I was so proud of them and I feel like it added a little unique touch. I didn't even think that once the ice melted they would be floating and look just as great, or that the guest would use the ice cubes in there glasses and once them melted they looked adorable floating in everyones glass. I got the idea from Vintage Glam Weddings where you can find out how to DIY or you can find tons of DIY projects on their awesome blog. The little purse, they are wine stoppers! And the little photo hangers that were on everyones plates were my own little project, which I used all their engagement photos I took (click to see their slide show).

This past weekend I shot the Wedding of Dianne & Ethan in Fort Washington, PA. The two are gorgeous together and are genuinely great people . Their wedding was so real and romantic, all about celebrating them becoming one. Dianne planned the wedding in about 6 weeks and from Washington State non-the-less, Crazy right? But the day was filled with happiness, love and laughs on top of all that goodness, it was Beautiful! Thank you to both families and their friends for being so wonderful and excepting.

Excitement is running through my veins! So much going on, so many high hopes and so much anticipation. Chad starts the Police Academy on Monday and we are more then thrilled. I am so proud of him, but I'll be even more proud when he gets through and graduates at the end of July.

Also, my awesomely talented Graphic Designer, Justin Girard is just about done my new Logo! I'm so excited! Soo soo excited. Yes I need to take a chill pill. But the look of things will be changing around here, there will be a new website debuting in a few months, the blog should be changing a little and there will be new little things here and there such as stationary, business cards, ect. And I can't wait!

They are an amazing, in love, energetic couple that are so much fun and well I owe them for introducing me to my new favorite bakery, The Little Chef pastry shop! Joe and Sarah will be getting married October 3rd, 2009 in Princeton and I have the pleasure of being the one to document there day. Can't wait guys!

Joe is really into Music and Sarah wanted to take Joe to the Princeton Record Exchange for their first date, cute I know. BUT when they got there it was closed, sad I know. BUT guess where we stopped at, awesome I know!
Umm and take a look at their choice in albums...Totally loved their choices.

When the Record Exchange was closed, they went next door to my new favorite, Little Chef! So this is where they had there first date!

So I posted about a super secret photo shoot I did a few weeks back. Well I can now finally blog about it. 3 guys that I have been friends with since I was like 14 asked me if I would be there photographer for there annual Christmas card they send out. It is usually hilarious and everyone wants one, it's a hot item around these parts ;)
One early Saturday morning we head down the shore to Belmar for a really quick photo shoot, and this is what came of it...

I know it's late, I just got done a project, one thing to cross of my list, 100 to go.
As I was scanning a gazillion and one photos for a secret x-mas present for someone. I came across old photos of my family. Some extremely old. Photographs really do amaze me, in every way. I love them(I'm glad I do since I am a photographer). They essentially hold on to one moment in time. Cameras capture history. They give people the ability to look back into the past. To remember their own history, to learn others. This holiday season, take any camera you have, even a disposable and document it.

Here is a few pictures I found. Over the holiday I will be posting some others...

This picture was taken 64 years ago in 1944. My grandmother @ 16, she is now 80.
This picture was taken around the same time, most likely the same year. My late grandfather in his Army uniform during the 40's.
I have another picture of my other grandmother, but I still have to scan it, then I will put it up.

My husband and I have been sick all week. Not fun at all! After 2 wonderful client meetings, editing, designing, brainstorming, researching and organizing. I decided to have a sick day, which ended with me on the computer anyway, then me getting bored. So out came the photo booth on my beloved iMAC. The photo booth never fails to make me laugh at myself or other people. I should actually make it a weekly posting, I have so many hilarious photos of friends and family entertaining themselves on my photo booth, I just may have to post one a week ;)

In October Photo Expo Plus was in NYC, which meant top notch wedding photographers from all over made a trek to the city. And with that they held seminars, get togethers and all sorts of fun stuff for photographers to geek out about. So I took the train up to the city and had the awesome opportunity to take part of the GET SIMPLE seminar with Kevin Swan and Mike Larson. I can't tell you how much insight I took away from this long day. My business has changed a little, from the way I do things to my outlook on just about everything. I met some wonderful people and not only got to meet the Founder of Kiss Wedding Books (which is my favorite album company, the one I swear by and the only one I use) but I got to learn from him and have conversations with him. They are awesome for what they do, their costumer service and the passion they have for this industry. Pretty much...I was geeking out.

Halloween, 6 days late...

I know I know, I should have posted this about 6 Days ago. Go ahead slap my hand. Halloween, always a favorite among the Crawford Clan. There is something about dressing up, candy, crisp cool air, and well just the spirit of the holiday that is just spectacular in my mind. Everyone should have off for the day, to enjoy and have fun and be kids again. Speaking of Kids here are my 2 favorite little people in there awesomely cute costumes...My little sister Kelsey and my youngest brother Corey. This pictures just put a smile on my face, I hope they do the same to you.

Kristina and Mickey, Engagement Pictures...(Part 1)

Kristina and Mickey, what can I say? I loved so many of there photos this is the first of 2 long posts. It was a gorgeous day, probably the most gorgeous day in October. We had the session at Laurita Winery. If you haven't gone, it's a must. The winery just opened up last month and is beautiful, not to mention the yummy wine and cheese. This couple is so beautiful, inside and out, you can just see their love for one another in the first 5min of being around them. They are getting married in Sept. '09 and I just can't wait. We had a blast and the wedding is going to be even more fun. Thank you so much Kristina and Mickey, you guys are awesome!!!

I remember 16 years ago, sitting in my kitchen with my mother and brother making sweatshirts that said Go Phillies! Beat Toronto! Yes we made them with Iron ons and edge paint. We were by far the coolest kids at Lalor elementry the following day, with our homemade sportswear. The Phillies sadly did not win that year, but I find myself tonight watching the in Game 5 of the world series again, hoping for a World Championship. I have never seen Phillies win a Championship in my lifetime. And for my 80-year old grandmother, Mama, who is the biggest, die hard Phillies fan I know, I pray they win. She seriously knows the whole entire line up, who's pitching, what time the game starts, who's playing where and who is on the DL. Also for my father who is a hardcore Philadelphia Sports fan and who would probably disown me if I didn't follow suit. Just Kidding, maybe not ;)
So I do have to say...GO PHILLIES! I hope they take it in game 5 and if not, the next game!

In September I had the opportunity to help shoot a couple that was more incredibly into each other than most. They made it so easy and so fun to shoot them, and their bridal party...So much fun. Columbus Day Weekend...

I decided to take a break this weekend and get out...away from the computer and work and could I have gotten a better weekend? I don't think so. Friday, I went up to the city for a dinner cruise with my Husband around the East River and the Statue of Liberty. If you have ever been to New York City, even if you live there and you have never seen it from the River, then you've never really seen the city. I was in Awe for about 3 hrs. Then Saturday, I had an AMAZING engagement session @ Laurita Winery. You should get a sneak peak by tonight and the full post in a couple days. And then Sunday we drove down to my Uncles farm in Egg Harbor for a weenie roast, some mini horses and some Harley Ridin...

And I will not say who I am going to vote for nor shall I say who you should vote for, but....I hope, I honestly hope that everyone is taking interest in this election because not only are you witnessing history, you are a part of history. These are changing times, we are at a time in history where the books are going to call this our generations transition. So please VOTE, encourage others to VOTE.

I do have to call out how incredibly much Tina Fey and Gov. Sarah Palin look alike, it's uncanny!
